Renzenbrink & Partner advises svt Group, an Ergon portfolio company, on the acquisition of the DDL GmbH

svt, headquartered in Seevetal near Hamburg, Germany, is the leading European provider of passive fire protection products as well as installation and restoration management services with more than 900 employees worldwide generating annual revenues of approx. EUR 200m and an EBITDA in excess of EUR 30m.

DDL GmbH, based in Wernau am Neckar, specializes in the development, production and sale of wall bushings (Wanddurchführungen), pipe bushings (Rohrduchführungen) and cable bushings (Kabeldurchführungen) for the construction industry and clients active in the utilities and waste management business. DDL GmbH was founded in 2004 by the seller, Klaus Uli Lutz, and currently employs about 20 people.

The Renzenbrink & Partner team was led by Dr. Niels Maier and comprised Dr. Ulf Renzenbrink (both Corporate/M&A), Marc H. Kotyrba, Marie Eikmeier (both Tax) and Vincent Faure (Corporate/M&A).

The acquisition of DDL GmbH marks the seventh add-on acquisition within the last five years, all of which with Renzenbrink & Partner as lead legal and tax advisor of svt Group. Further, with regard to the recently closed transfer of svt group to a newly established single-asset fund (Continuation Fund) advised by Ergon Capital Management S.A., a Renzenbrink & Partner team led by Dr. Ulf Renzenbrink acted as German lead legal and tax counsel to Ergon Capital Partners III S.A.
