Renzenbrink & Partner advises Trianel GmbH on the formation of a consortium for a large-scale battery storage project
30. June 2025Renzenbrink & Partner advised Trianel GmbH on the formation of a consortium with Swiss company BKW AG and the German asset manager Luxcara. The objective of the consortium is to develop one of Germany’s largest battery storage projects in Waltrop, North Rhine-Westphalia.
Trianel GmbH, based in Aachen, is a cooperation of municipal energy utilities. The company specializes in the development, construction and operation of renewable energy projects, as well as providing energy-related services to municipal utilities.
The battery storage project is set to achieve an initial capacity of 900 megawatts (MW) and 1,800 megawatt-hours (MWh).
