Renzenbrink & Partner advises the shareholders of Deutsche See on the sale to Parlevliet & Van der Plas

As part of a structured bidding process, the shareholders of Deutsche See have sold all shares in the Group’s two main companies, Deutsche Holding GmbH and the operationally active Deutsche See GmbH, to the Dutch company Parlevliet & Van der Plas. Completion of the transaction is still subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.

With over 1,700 employees in 22 branches throughout Germany and more than 35,000 customers from the food retail and food service sectors, Deutsche See is the market leader for fish and seafood in Germany. As a leading fish manufacturer, the company processes an extensive range of fish and seafood at three locations at its headquarters in Bremerhaven. The delicatessen brand BEECK has been part of the Deutsche See Group since 2003. In 2010, Deutsche See received the German Sustainability Award as the “Most Sustainable Company” in Germany for its long-standing commitment to the conservation of fish stocks.

Parlevliet & Van der Plas is an internationally active Dutch family business in the fishing industry that covers the entire value chain from fishing to processing and distribution. With a turnover of more than one billion euros and over 6,000 employees, it is one of the largest companies in the fish and seafood sector in Europe.

Renzenbrink & Partner comprehensively advised the shareholders of Deutsche See on the sale to Parlevliet & Van der Plas.
