Renzenbrink & Partner advises opseo on the acquisition of Hamacher Gesundheitsdienste and other care services

opseo Holding B.V. is continuing its expansion course and has recently acquired Hamacher Gesundheitsdienste, based in Cologne.

Since it was founded in 1994, the Hamacher Group has developed from a small outpatient care service in the Porz district of Cologne into a recognized specialist outpatient intensive care service in the greater Cologne area. Since 2017, the group has also been focusing on the care of people with dementia in assisted living communities. With three operating companies and a total of over 150 employees, Hamacher Gesundheitsdienste offers non-clinical (intensive) care in patients’ homes and in residential care communities.

In the first half of 2021, opseo also acquired the long-established company “Binder Intensivpflege” based in Neukirchen b.Hl.Blut, the care service “IPD – MV” with locations in Stralsund and Greifswald and the leading children’s care service “Kidi” from Villingen-Schwenningen in the southwest of Baden-Württemberg.

The transactions underpin the opseo Group’s growth trajectory as one of the largest providers of out-of-hospital intensive care in Germany. With around 4,000 employees, the opseo Group provides care for children, adolescents and adults in individual care as well as in over 80 residential communities, a further 22 outpatient locations and 21 inpatient facilities. In recent years, the Group has acquired particular expertise in the field of intensive care for children.

Renzenbrink & Partner provided comprehensive legal advice to the opseo Group on all transactions. The team consisted of partners Dr. Dennis Schlottmann (Corporate/M&A), Marc H. Kotyrba (Tax) and associate Dr. Alexander Haunschild (Corporate/M&A).
