Renzenbrink & Partner advises majority family tree Uwe Matthiesen on the sale of Hamburg-based BORCO-Marken-Import to Stock Spirits Group

The traditional Hamburg-based BORCO-Marken-Import Matthiesen GmbH & Co. KG was sold by the owner family to Stock Spirits Group. BORCO-Marken-Import Matthiesen GmbH & Co. KG was continuously built up as a family business to become one of the largest German importers as well as producers and distributers of spirits. Its own brands comprise SIERRA Tequila de México, HELBING, FINSBURY, YENI RAKI and DISARONNO.

Stock Spirits Group, part of CVC Capital Partners’ portfolio since November 2021, strengthens its market position as one of the largest Central European marketers and producers of alcoholic beverages through this acquisition.

The closing of the transaction is subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities.
