Renzenbrink & Partner advises Klingel medical metal Group (supported by IK) on the acquisition of two Swiss “MedTec” companies

Renzenbrink & Partner advised Klingel Holding GmbH, an IK portfolio company, on the acquisition of the Swiss MedTech companies Bächler Feintech AG (“Bächler”) and Gehring Cut AG (“Gehring”).

Bächler was founded in 1964 and employs around 140 people at its production site in Hölstein, Switzerland. Gehring was founded in 1948 and currently employs around 75 people at its production site in Matzingen, Switzerland. Both companies are leading manufacturers of high-precision surgical instruments for the global MedTech market.

Klingel medical metal Group, a portfolio company of IK Investment Partners Fund VIII (“IK”), is a leading European precision technology provider with over 300 employees in Germany, focusing on the precision machining of materials with low machinability (e.g. titanium or high-quality stainless steel) for use in medical technology.

In 2018, Renzenbrink & Partner advised IK on all legal and tax aspects in connection with the acquisition of the Klingel medical metal group. In the acquisitions of Bächler and Gehring, Renzenbrink & Partner as lead counsel advised Klingel Holding GmbH together with the Swiss law firms Wenger & Vieli AG (Bächler) and Wiesli Rechtsanwälte (Gehring) on all legal aspects of the transactions, including the management participation program, with a team consisting of Dr. Ulf Renzenbrink and Dr. Niels Maier (Corporate / M&A) as well as Marc H. Kotyrba (Tax).
