Renzenbrink & Partner advises JENOPTIK on the acquisition of TRIOPTICS
6. July 2020JENOPTIK acquires 100 percent of TRIOPTICS GmbH. The transaction will take place in two stages. Initially, JENOPTIK will acquire 75 percent of the shares, with the remaining shares to be acquired by the end of 2021 once defined success criteria have been met. The company strengthens JENOPTIK’s market and technology-leading position in the Light & Optics division. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the exact purchase price.
TRIOPTICS is a leading international supplier of measurement and manufacturing systems for optical components and sensors for the digital world. Headquartered in Wedel near Hamburg, the company employs over 400 people worldwide and generated sales of around EUR 80 million in 2019. TRIOPTICS maintains a very strong presence in European and Asian markets with its own locations. The company generates more than half of its revenue in Asia.
As a globally active technology group, JENOPTIK operates in the market with the three photonic divisions Light & Optics, Light & Production and Light & Safety, as well as with the VINCORION brand for mechatronic solutions. Key markets include semiconductor equipment, medical technology, automotive and mechanical engineering, transportation, aviation, security and defense technology. JENOPTIK is listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, employs over 4,100 people worldwide and generated sales of around 855 million euros in the 2019 financial year.
