Renzenbrink & Partner advises J.F. Müller & Sohn AG on the acquisition of a stake in StoryDOCKS

Hamburg-based J.F. Müller & Sohn AG was founded in 1795 and is now managed by the 6th generation of the family. The investment holding company traditionally specializes in the timber and port logistics sectors, but has recently made more investments in companies in the medical technology sector and in IT-based services. The focus is on growth financing and succession solutions for SMEs.

StoryDOCKS was originally part of the Friedrich Oetinger publishing house and was spun off in 2015 with the help of well-known external investors and has been growing ever since. The company sees itself as a driver of innovation for innovative storytelling specifically for children and young people. Innovative product experiences are created by combining content and technology in order to tell good stories in an even more comprehensive and fascinating way. With the entry of J.F. Müller & Sohn AG as a new investor, the separation from the publishing house Friedrich Oetinger is also fully completed in terms of company law.

J.F. Müller & Sohn AG has acquired a seven-figure stake in StoryDOCKS as part of a capital increase in order to further accelerate growth in the three portfolio areas of personalization, digital education and multi-channel products. The common goal is to accelerate product expansion, scale the business models and further international expansion with partners.
