Renzenbrink & Partner advises Ankerkraut founders on buy-back from Nestlé

Renzenbrink & Partner has advised the Ankerkraut founders Anne and Stefan Lemcke on the buy-back of the shares in Ankerkraut GmbH held by Nestlé.

Founded in Hamburg in 2013, Ankerkraut has become one of Germany’s most popular premium brands for high-quality spice blends. The company employs around 160 people and sells its products online and through grocery and specialty retailers in German-speaking countries, as well as through its own stores in Hamburg and Bochum.

Nestlé acquired a majority stake in Ankerkraut in 2022. With this buyback, the company will be managed without external shareholders: Besides the founders, long-time managing directors Timo Haas and Alexander Schwoch will also hold shares in the company and continue to manage Ankerkraut’s operations from its Hamburg headquarters.

Renzenbrink & Partner has comprehensively advised the Ankerkraut founders on the legal and tax aspects of the transaction. The Renzenbrink & Partner team consisted of Dr. Dennis Schlottmann (Corporate/PE), Dr. Ulf Renzenbrink (Corporate/PE), Marc H. Kotyrba (Tax) and Dr. Nils Rüstmann (Corporate/PE).
