Renzenbrink & Partner advised EMZ Partners on the financing of the acquisition of Assepro AG

EMZ Partners has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire a majority stake in Assepro AG and its subsidiaries, headquartered in Pfäffikon, Switzerland.

Assepro is the leading independent insurance broker company with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises in Switzerland. With over 8000 such customers Assepro offers a broad value chain including brokerage, insurance advisory, risk management, pension schemes, financial/pension planning and employee benefits and serves its clients through 18 local presences in the German-speaking region of Switzerland.

The transaction marks the first time that Renzenbrink & Partner acted for the team of EMZ Partners around Klaus Maurer and Guntram Kieferle.

The Renzenbrink & Partner team was led by Dr Bernd Egbers (Partner) and comprised Philipp Hogrefe (Associate) and Zacharias Woltering-Schlenker (Transaction Analyst) (all Finance, Munich). Lukas Wyss (Walder Wyss) advised on the Swiss legal aspects of the financing.

The financing is provided by Credit Suisse and Investec. They have been advised by Jürg Frick (Homburger).

Latham & Watkins supported EMZ Partners in relation to German corporate law (Burc Hesse and Dr Sebastian Pauls) as well as tax aspects (Stefan Süß and Verena Seevers). Bär & Karrer provided the corresponding Swiss legal advice.
