Renzenbrink & Partner advises von Allwörden family on sale of von Allwörden Bakery Group to EDEKA Nord

Renzenbrink & Partner advises the von Allwörden family on the sale of its majority stake in von Allwörden Bäckereigruppe to EDEKA Handelsgesellschaft Nord mbH. The transaction is still subject to clearance by the German Federal Cartel Office.

The Heinrich von Allwörden family bakery, founded in 1906, also includes the Nur Hier, Hanse Frisch, Bäckerei Knaack and Dallmeyers Backhus bakery chains. The group employs more than 2,500 people and operates more than 500 stores.

Since 2018, EDEKA Nord has held a minority stake in the von Allwörden bakery group. With the sale of the majority stake, the von Allwörden family is exiting the bakery segment in the fifth generation and is handing over the traditional family business in its entirety to EDEKA Nord.
