5 April 2022

The opseo group, one of Germany’s largest providers of out-of-hospital intensive care for adults and children, has acquired A.I.H. – Ambulante Intensivpflege Holding GmbH head-quartered in Auerbach. The transaction has already received regulatory clearance and has been completed. A.I.H. – Ambulante Intensivpflege Holding GmbH with its subsidiaries A.I.B. Wohngruppen GmbH, Hero GmbH, Agapeo GmbH and Curademic GmbH is a leading provider of intensive care in Bavaria with a focus on residential care communities for adults and the care of children requiring intensive care. Currently, the A.I.H. group cares for a total of around 200 patients with approximately 1,000 employees and operates around 25 residential care communities.

In recent months and in addition to the acquisition of the A.I.H. group, opseo has also acquired the Hamburg-based “Balu Kinderintensivpflegedienst”, which has developed into the highest-performing intensive care provider in northern Germany since its founding in 2013 with currently just under 120 employees. With the Bielefeld-based intensive care provider Aercura, opseo was also able to acquire a quality market leader in intensive care in the East Westphalia region. Recently, GtIB “Gesundheitsteam für Intensivpflege und Beatmung” GmbH based in Itzehoe also became part of the opseo Group.

The transactions underpin the opseo’s growth trajectory as one of the largest providers of out-of-hospital intensive care in Germany.

Renzenbrink & Partner provided comprehensive legal advice to opseo on all transactions. The team consisted of Dr. Dennis Schlottmann, Dr. Alexander Haunschild and Jonas H. Hamm (all Corporate/M&A).
